Van Wert also has many cultural + educational facilities available for our community.

The Niswonger Performing Arts Center is Van Wert’s premier venue for concerts, ballet, Broadway-style performances, and choirs. The nearly $10 million facility opened in 2007 and houses a 1,200 seat auditorium, 175 seat lecture hall, and an opulent lobby.

Wassenberg Art Center is a community art centerThe Wassenberg Art Center is a community art center which presents admission-free exhibits and offers art classes, workshops, unique events, and activities for adults and children throughout the year.

The Van Wert Civic Theater is a volunteer-run organization that produces award-winning, live theatre for our community. They offer five shows each season and produce two youth theatre productions each summer. Shows run for two to three weekends.

The Brumback Library is a historic public library in the city of Van Wert. It was opened at the beginning of the 20th century in order to serve all residents of Van Wert County. The building has been named a historic site, partly because of its place as the first public library in the United States.

There are also a number of museums in the area, including the Delphos Canal Museum, Delphos Postal Museum, Van Wert Historical Museum, and Antique Fire Equipment Museum.
