Land Bank

The Van Wert County Land Reutilization Corporation (Land Bank) is focused on facilitating the transition of blighted, foreclosed, and abandoned properties.

The Land Bank is a non-profit organization created to acquire, hold, manage, and sometimes redevelop property to return these properties to productive use to meet community goals, such as increasing affordable housing or stabilizing property values. The board meets during the first month of each quarter on the second Tuesday of that month.

AVAILABLE PROPERTIES

228 W. Second St., Van Wert

On behalf of the Van Wert County Land Reutilization Corporation (property owner), sealed Bid Proposals will be received by the Van Wert County Land Reutilization Corporation at the Van Wert Area Economic Development Corporation office at 140 E. Main Street Van Wert, Ohio 45891, until 10:00 A.M. local time on October 28, 2024 at which time the proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud. Proposals received after the above-stated time and date will be returned unopened. Please note that this is for 228 W. Second Street as is. It will be the winning bidder’s responsibility to have the house demolished and start new construction on the site. It must have a residential dwelling on the property. It may not be used as a lot for storage or left green space. The Van Wert County Land Reutilization reserves the right to refuse any bid. Bid forms may be picked up at Van Wert Area Economic Development located at 140 E. Main St., Van Wert, OH 45891.
