COVID-19 Pandemic

Our thoughts go out to each and every person impacted by COVID-19, and we hope and pray that you and your family are safe and healthy.  Our offices remain open, although working remotely and we are doing our very best to support the businesses and residents of Van Wert County. 

We have provided links to resources below:

  • Ohio Dept. of Health comprehensive website Coronavirus.Ohio.Gov with resources for businesses and families.  Note: Businesses will want to click on the “Resources for Economic Support” under Educational Information near the bottom of the page. 
  • Department of Health hotline, 1-833-4-ASK-ODH
  • Ohioans can apply for unemployment benefits online 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at unemployment.ohio.gov. It is also possible to file by phone at 877-644-6562 or TTY at 888- 642-8203, Monday through Friday 7 am to 7 pm and 9 am to 1pm on Saturdays. Employers with questions should email UCTech@jfs.ohio.gov.
  • There are several relief loans available through the Small Business Administration (SBA).  Generally, businesses, 501(c)(3) non-profits, 501 (c)(19) veteran’s organizations with not more than 500 employees, as well as sole-proprietors, independent contractors and other self-employed individuals are eligible with not more than 500 employees are eligible.  Loans will be made though lenders that have been approved by the SBA.  For more information, please visit the SBA website at https://www.sba.gov/ or call our office to discuss.
